Wood Re New Company History

Stan Krempges, founder and CEO of the corporation started Wood Re New in March 1993 in Springfield Missouri.

Prior to Wood Re New, Stan was partners in a fence installation company. Numerous customers asked how to keep their fence looking nice. In addition, his own home had cedar siding on it that was starting to turn black and needed attention. He began researching products and realized there was a need for an exterior wood care expert that could clean and maintain decks, fences, docks, cedar and redwood siding. Hence, Wood Re New was born.

During the second year in business, with the assistance of a chemist, Stan developed an environmentally safe cleaner specifically for exterior wood. This cleaner is actually a thick foam that clings to vertical surfaces better, and achieves amazing results.

After restoring the wood’s original beauty we apply our exclusive Protectant to safeguard it from further damage by the elements. Our proprietary protectant repels water and blocks harmful u.v. rays and gives wood a rich, new appearance.

Wood Re New started as a home based business and now occupies a 4500 sq. ft. retail location. We began franchising in 2002. There are now 21 locations in 11 states. Wood Re New offers franchise opportunities throughout the U.S.

Prior to franchising in 2002 Wood Re New opened 3 satellite stores to prove the systems could be duplicated. January 2000 the first unit was opened in Rogers Arkansas operated by Lance Gold. Each year at our annual convention a franchisee is awarded with the “Lance Gold Award” in memory of Lance whose life was cut short at 32 years old.
